Privacy Policy

1. What we collect

• Account details: name, business email, and the business you represent, when you create a Ponte account.
• Business information: the trade details, opportunities, and requirements you choose to submit (product, quantity, terms, origin/destination, and similar), and any documents or evidence you provide for verification.
• Verification data: publicly available or officially disclosed information about your business or a counterparty's business, used only to produce dated evidence records, never a score.
• Usage data: how you use the platform (pages visited, actions taken), collected to keep the service reliable and secure.
• Communications: messages you send through Ponte, and any correspondence with our team.

We never collect more than a screen asks for. Where a field is optional, it is marked as optional.

2. Why we use it

• To provide the core service: finding, structuring, verifying, and introducing.
• To run our verification process and produce evidence records.
• To keep the platform secure and prevent misuse.
• To communicate with you about your account, submissions, and introductions.
• To meet our legal and regulatory obligations.

We do not use your data to train external AI models, and we do not sell your data to third parties. Some features, including the spoken and typed 'click and talk' objective entry, use an automated AI system to interpret what you say or type so we can route your request; you use those features knowing that an AI system processes your input.

3. Who sees it

• Other businesses: only after a controlled introduction is agreed. Before that point, your identity and contact details are never disclosed. Market signals and qualified opportunities are shown to other users only in the safe, non-identifying form appropriate to that stage.
• Service providers: hosting, database, and infrastructure providers who process data on our behalf under contract, strictly to run the platform.
• Regulators and authorities: only where required by law.

4. International transfers

Where any service provider is located outside the UK, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as the UK's International Data Transfer Addendum, to keep your data protected to UK standards.

5. How long we keep it

We keep account and business data for as long as your account is active, and for a limited period afterwards where needed to meet legal, accounting, or dispute-resolution requirements. You can ask us to delete your data sooner; see your rights below.

6. Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to:

• access the personal data we hold about you;
• ask us to correct inaccurate data;
• ask us to delete your data, subject to legal retention needs;
• ask us to restrict or object to certain processing;
• receive your data in a portable format;
• complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk) if you believe we have not handled your data correctly.

7. Cookies

Ponte uses only the cookies necessary to keep you signed in and the platform working. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

If you arrive at Ponte through a Partner's referral link, we set one further first-party cookie to remember which introduction brought you here, so that a Partner is correctly credited if you go on to register a business. It holds only the referral code itself — no identifier, timestamp or profile of you — is readable only by Ponte, expires after 90 days, and is set only once a link resolves to a Partner Ponte recognises.

8. Changes to this policy

We will update this page when our practices change, and mark the date at the top. Material changes will be flagged to active users.
